There are great deals to be had on chicken at Giant.. I picked up enough for the entire month, as well as a pork loin that I will make chop's out of for $15.00.. They are great too!
Chicken Leg Quaters $0.69
Split Chicken Breast BOGO (get the large packs they are $0.20 cheaper a lb) $2.79lb /2 = $1.40lb
When I got home I put 4 quaters in my crockpot, added celery carrots and onion.. This will become chicken noodle and chicken corn chowder.
In 2 13*9 pans I baked 8 split chicken breasts
In a Large pan I boiled 4 chicken leg quaters (these will be bbq'd on the grill) This created my chicken stock that I made Cream of Chicken out of.. I poured the juice from the chicken in the oven right into this pot too.
~ To make Cream of Chicken 1 1/2 c broth, 1/2 c milk and tsp fresh parsly. bring to a boil. In another bowl combine 1c milk and 3/4c flour. Add to broth on stove, mix until it thickens, salt pepper to taste.
I made 2 sets of 4 Quaters in the oven too. No need to reheat the oven or use more foil. Both money savers!
