Room by Room ~ Kitchen Day 2

Appliances Just a warning this could spill over into day 3!  Think how many appliances you own...

• Dishwasher
• Microwave
• Blender
• Chop Chop
• Toaster Oven
• Electric Can Opener
• Coffee Maker

The Dishwasher should be relativly easy right? I mean it cleans the dishes all of the time... Think again, when I began reading I could not believe how dirty this appliance could be..  Yes my dishwasher came with our house when we bought it and probobly came with the house when it was built 30 years ago! It does the job.. Ill get a new one someday, In my dreams!  Follow these instuctions and it will be sparkling!!

Load it and run it... (move on to cleaning your microwave)






















~ To clean your Microwave..
                 Remove the glass tray, put in the sink.. Get a microwavable bowl fill with a few teaspoons of lemon juice or a squeesed fresh lemon and microwave for 5-10 minutes (move onto the coffemaker)... THIS WILL BE EXTREMLY HOT.. Remove and wipe with a papertowel.  Wipe the outside of microwave and under neath it!

~ To clean your Coffee Maker
                  Make a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water-- enough to fill the pot. For a stronger solution (which might be necessary if this is the first time you've cleaned your coffee maker since you got it three years ago) make a mixture that is half vinegar and half water instead. Put a coffee filter in and Run it as usuall. Wait 15 minutes, Dump mixture out, rinse and fill with cool water and run it again.

Seriously ~ Dont stand there watching these things.. KEEP MOVING!! Save your self some time and plan ahead where there will be down time.. and add things accordingly!

Back to the Dishwasher...

When Cycle is over, Empty it, remove bottom rack and check for little things that have fallen through!



It doesnt look to dirty does it?? Just wait

Get your tweaser's and grab those little particles in the sprayer holes.. Of course how efficant can the dishwasher be if water cant come through?  I have never even noticed these before!!

Wait till you see what I found...

Plastic lables, and food particles, EWWW are you grossed out... Ha this is nothing!!

Remove the door seal, and see what you find... underneath my seal was the most disgusting thing i have found in a long time.. and yes i do have 2 kids and 3 dogs so quite frequently im intruduced to new things..

Removed all nastyness... Scrubbed until I could scrub no more, 2 toothbrushes, wirebrush and a scrub brush later... Then i prompty dumped as much comet as I could into the dishwasher and scrubbed all of the walls and ran the dishwasher again...

This was not the best idea..

Moving on...

Check the basket for objects too... There is the other peice of that glass!!!

Wash this in your sink!

Looking better!!!  















In come the bad boys....

Add some to your soap dispencer...throw your dirty tools on there and run her again!!!

Grab your Blender, and Chop Chop, Coffee Maker Craf and Glass Tray from Microwave and remove all parts and run them through your freshly CLEANED and Disinfected DISHWASHER!!

Wipe all exterior surfaces.. Dry.. Replace.. and Put them back where they go!

Dont forget your toaster

 Unplug it, remove the tray dump all crumbs, wash bottom tray, and wipe all surfaces

This was a 2 Hour ordeal for me... With Kiddos awake, you might be lucky and have a helper??? Doubt it.. If not, save some for tomorrow, its a light day!! GOOD LUCK!!
